Brief description of your organization/association:
The National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) is the apex governmental body for the promotion and development of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in Ghana. It was established in 1985.
NBSSI established the Women Entrepreneurship Development Department (WED) with the aim to promote and develop women entrepreneurs in Ghana.
NBSSI Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Initiative seeks to develop a range of activities to enable and support women businesses, with a specific goal focused on transforming the business environment to strengthen women entrepreneurs across Ghana.
It will provide a platform and network to develop strategies, and mobilize the requisite resources to implement targeted projects and programs to ensure the long-term development, growth and sustainability of women-owned enterprises in Ghana to maximize their contribution to the country’s economic and social development.
